| Dog Skin & Coat - Facts by Kesler's Korner |
SKIN AND HAIRCOAT FACTS
When you think of the major organs that dogs have most of us think of the Liver, Heart and their brains. It may surprise you to know that their largest organ is the skin that covers their bodies. It is that soft protective outer covering that encases the other organs of the body. It has many functions that include preventing dehydration, sensing pain and temperature, helps prevent trauma and contains the hair coat. Actually the list of its functions would be very long indeed.
The haircoat of the dog is found on the outermost layer of the skin. Besides giving each breed and dog a distinctive look it also plays a role in the dog's health. The haircoat provides insulation for the dog, keeping them warm in the winter and cool in the summer. As you know the type and length of the haircoat in dogs varies a great deal. The haircoat also can act as a warning to others as we see when two dogs approach each other and their "Hair rises" on their backs.
The hair is basically dead material consisting of protein. It is produced in hair follicles that determine the shape of the hair. Curly follicles produce curly hair and straight follicles produce straight hair. Part of the hair follicle produces sebum, an oily like substance that gives the hair a sheen. The hair of dogs grows in cycles and this cycle has four phases. The duration of these phases determine the length of the hair coat and the thickness of the haircoat. When the hair reaches a certain length the genetics of the dog then determines when the growth stops. The final phase that we encounter is when the haircoat sheds. The length of this phase is determined by the seasons. Not all hair follicle are in sync thankfully or shedding would result in compete baldness and then start over from scratch. Different breeds have differing phases and that is why we have very long haircoats and dogs with almost complete baldness. Dog breeds vary in haircoats: some have double coats consisting of a top coat and undercoat, some are hairless and some have a topcoat with little or no undercoats.
Many owners of dogs are concerned about shedding and so I will give a few generalizations on dog and the cycle of shedding. Shedding is related to seasonal cycles, that is the daylight to nighttime seasonal changes. An increase in the amount of daylight stimulates the growth of hair and usually coincides with spring. The shedding we encounter in spring is heavier due to the winter coat being heavier and being replaced by a lighter summer coat. Those dogs that have double coats usually shed their undercoats two times per year and their topcoats once a year. When these dogs shed both top and undercoats at once it is referred to as "blowing a coat". Some dogs shed throughout the year or once a year. The process of shedding usually lasts anywhere from three weeks to two months while indoor dogs seem to shed lightly all year round. Other factors that influence haircoats and shedding are nutrition, hormones, stress, temperature and the sex of the dog.
The skin and haircoats of dogs are not only attractive but a very complicated organ that is vital to the health of the dog. Diseases of the skin and haircoats are one of the most common reasons for veterinary visits. Keeping your dogs' skin and haircoat healthy involves proper bathing and brushing, proper nutrition and using well formulated supplements designed for skin and hair health.

| Save Money on Gas |
Gas prices tend to go up in summer because of increased demand. Combining errands saves both gas money and time. Find the cheapest gas along your normal driving route. Try to choose regular gasoline, not premium, unless your car's manual recommends a higher-octane fuel. Driving defensively, following speed limits and avoiding aggressive stops and starts also saves gas. Look for opportunities to take a walk, bike ride, or public transit or enjoy carpooling with friends. And Finally, try to avoid driving in rush hour as much as you can. All that time idling in traffic wastes a lot of gas. Perhaps you can adjust your work schedule so you can avoid traffic. Maybe you can even telecommute occasionally.

| Back to The Basics |
Many people do not understand what it means to be a follower of Christ. They assume it's just a matter of thinking the right thoughts about Jesus, doing the right things and avoiding the wrong things. They need to understand that foundational to being a Christian is having a personal relationship with Jesus that changes them from the inside out. Then in the way they live they need to reflect the profound influence Christ has on their lives.
"As the suns coming up in the morning, every tear will be gone from my eyes. This ole clays gona give way to glory, and like an eagle we'll take to the sky."
Give thanks unto the Lord, and praise his name, for some day we will be taken home in the sky with him. Amen
Quit dwelling on the negative things people have said about you. You don't have to have everyone's approval. You have God's approval.
"I am with you and will watch over you Wherever you go... I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you" Genesis 28:15
If you're thanking God for what you do have, you won't have time to focus on what you don't have.
For our treasures are laid up in Heaven.
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come (2 Corinthians 5:17)
If left to ourselves, we would be totally lost. But "thanks be to God for His indescribable gift" (2 Corinthians 9:15) He rescured us. While it may take some time to clean up all the dirt and grime, He is faithful and will complete His good work in us (Philippians 1:6)
Steps of Faith: Father, thank You for transforming me into the image of Your Son. Do Your good work in me.
(2 Corinthians 5:16-21)
Steps of Faith: Father, please hold us in Your arms and carry us through limbo land. It's a devastating place to be, even more so if You don't go with us. Deeper Walk Job:23

| Everyday Stress, learning to rely on Christ Jesus |
|
|
With Jesus Christ as my guide, I dedicate this website to him
|
Do you ever just feel like giving up some days? Boy, I sure do. It just seems like I work and work and never make any progress. How does a person get past these days and move forward with everyday stride.
Somedays, I feel like I have fallen in a deep hole that google has dug, when they reconstructed their search engines. I don't know which way to turn. Every where I turn there is someone with their hand out for money and more money, saying they can fix it, but when it comes right down to it they are not any smarter then myself. They just take my money and run, or ask for more money to TRY something else. Where do I go next?
When buidling or reconstructing a website it is like Christmas or well,
kinda like Christmas time, getting excited about getting something new, for everyone else. Or just shopping for everyone else. With so many to buy for I start early in the season. By the time Christmas rolls around, all the funds are gone, and spending isn't so much fun. Kinda like getting tired of spending money, but really really tired of spending your hard earned money on someone else, that really don't need anything, or don't really appreciate what you have gotten them. In a way I think that I really don't like Christmas anymore. We all just need to get back to the basic Christmas and remember what Christmas is really all about, CHRIST JESUS.
So I guess I really need to start my day off with Christ Jesus in my life and learn to reconstruct my daily life by putting him first and relying on him to take this website to newer and better hights each day.

|
Yorkshire Terriers Hair Care
|
The Yorkshire Terrier's hair or coat requires daily grooming. The hair on the top of the head, if grown long, is usually in a band or bow. Some owners don't have time for all the grooming so they will keep the hair in a nice short puppy cut.
They're not like other breeds, which have fur. The Yorkshire Terrier's have nice soft hair, not coarse. It will be fine and silky to the touch. It will grown constantly if not kept trimmed. They are also known as a non-shedding dog.

| Yorkie Puppy Shots |
|
|
A healthy yorkie puppy from Elainea's Yorkies at the age of 5 months.
|
Just how important do you think that your yorkie puppy shots are?
Well, let me tell you that having the little yorkie puppy vaccinated are very important and one of the first things that you should do when you get your little yorkie puppy. Make sure that they get all their parvo shots. Weather it be in a single dose of Neopar, or Max 5 or Max 7. The yorkie puppy has to be protected from this horrible virus. Parvo is a very deadly virus that effects little puppy if they come in contact with it. Parvo can live in the ground for years and when the weather and tempatures are just right it will come to the top. Without any worning. The puppy will get sick one day and be gone the next. Just that fast. So please get your puppies vaccinated with at least three different sets of parvo shots as a puppy under three months of age and then a booster at 6 months.

| God Bless America |
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
GOD BLESS AMERICA
IN GOD WE TRUST
2 Chronicles 7:14
"If my people, Who are called by my Name,
Will humble themselves And pray,
And seek my face, and Turn from their Wicked ways,
Then will I hear from Heaven
And will forgive their Sin and will heal Their land."
We must pray to our Lord Jesus Christ, for Our Nation, Our Communities, Our Churches,
Our Families, and especially our Children.
They are the ones that are going to suffer the most
If we don't PRAY!
May God have Mercy...
IN GOD WE TRUST.
